This morning we set off in our comfortable motorcoach for the North Chicago Area.  By this afternoon we will check into our hotel for the duration of our stay, the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Buffalo Grove, IL.  This evening we will enjoy an included Dinner at Lindy’s Landing Restaurant.    (D)
Wednesday, July 25
This morning after breakfast in the hotel we will depart for Lambs Farm Visitor Center. Since 1961, Lambs Farm is a non-profit organization helping people with developmental disabilities lead productive, happy lives and connecting with the human spirit in us all. To the residents, Lambs Farm is home, and a place they are proud to share with their visitors. To visitors, Lambs Farm is also a place to grow through enriching experiences with people with developmental disabilities while creating lasting connections with their families and yours. After an included Lunch at Magnolia Cafe at Lambs Farm, we will move on for a Tour & Cocktails at North Shore Distillery. Established in 2004, they handcraft amazing, small-batch spirits using the finest ingredients - spirits that are not possible on a mass production scale. They've won a variety of awards for their spirits, and are featured at some of the best bars in Chicago and the Midwest.  Then we will visit The Popcorn Factory. Their happy band of popcorn poppers have been delighting people with gourmet popcorn and delicious snacks and gifts since 1979. The Popcorn Factory specializes in fresh-popped gourmet popcorn in a variety of exclusively designed tins and packaging. Next, we will enjoy a Candy Making Class at Uniquely Sweet Candy. Become a chocolatier & make some chocolate clusters to take home. This evening we will enjoy Dinner & a Show at the Chicago Marriott Lincolnshire Resort. The show will be “Murder For Two”, the perfect blend of music, mayhem and murder!  Officer Marcus Moscowicz is a small town policeman with dreams of making it to detective.  One fateful night, shots ring out at the surprise birthday party of Great American Novelist, Arthur Whitney and the writer is killed....fatally.  With the nearest detective an hour away, Marcus jumps at the chance to prove his sleuthing skills.  But, whodunit?  Everyone is a suspect in Murder For Two, a hilarious musical murder mystery with a twist: one actor investigates the crime.  The other plays all of the suspects.  And they both play the piano! A zany blend of classic musical comedy and madcap mystery, this fast and funny whodunit is a highly theatrical duet loaded with killer laughs.     (B, L, D)
Thursday, July 26
Breakfast is included at the hotel.  We will begin the day with a Chocolate Tour at Long Grove Confectionery Outlet. A Chicago area tradition for two generations, Long Grove Confectionery uses the best ingredients and good old fashioned Midwestern hard work to consistently turn out creamy rich decadent treats. Next, arrive at Wandering Tree Estate for a Tour, High Tea and Talk by the Train Lady.  Wandering Tree Estate is a private luxury venue that has been creating lasting memories and fantastic events for 45 years. Ten acres of gorgeous gardens showcase nature at its glorious best with lush lawns and exquisite landscaping. Next, we will tour Sanfilippo Estate.  The Sanfilippo "Place de la Musique" is known worldwide for its magnificent collections of beautifully restored antique music machines, phonographs, arcade and gambling machines, chandeliers, art glass, the world's largest restored theatre pipe organ, the most spectacular European salon carousel in existence, street and tower clocks, steam engines and other functional mechanical antiques, displayed within a breathtaking French Second Empire setting.  Dinner is on our own this evening. (B, L)
Friday, July 27
After breakfast at the hotel we will depart for a Behind the Scenes Tour of Tempel Lipizzans Horse Farm. The Lipizzaner horse is one of the oldest breeds in Europe. In the late 1950’s Tempel and Esther Smith attended a performance of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, that would change their lives forever. The Tempel Lipizzans have been asked to perform all over the country including performances at the White House and in several Inaugural Ceremonies.  On our tour we will see what this working performance stable looks like when they're not performing. Their training program is year-round and welcome interested visitors into their historic stables. By evening we return home.   (B)
