Wednesday, December 6
Head west to the “Heart of America” - a Midwestern treasure with diverse attractions.  Most beautiful during the Holidays with the spectacular display of lights on the Country Club Plaza & Crown Center.  This afternoon we will be checking into our hotel, the Drury Inn & Suites in Kansas City, MO.  This evening we will enjoy an included dinner & show at the New Theatre Restaurant, play yet to be determined.    (D)
Thursday, December 7
After a full hot breakfast in the hotel,  we will experience the magic that goes into making the world-famous Strawberry Hill Povitica while sampling various flavors of their delectable swirled bread.  You can watch the artisan bakers take the traditional family recipes from dough to delicious through a large glass viewing window while being guided in a fun & informative visit through their bakery.  Next, we will visit K.C. Strings Violin Shop, Nationally known for making beautiful string instruments.  With instruments sold world-wide & played in symphonies across the globe, K.C. Strings craftsmen are sure to impress with their master craftmanship & expertise in creating exquisite musical masterpieces. After an included lunch at Jack Stack Barbeque we will enjoy some free time in Union Station.  Opened in 1914, Union Station today is home to two restaurants, a coffee shop, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, exhibit hall, planetarium, IMAX theater, and an interactive science center called Science City. Next we will visit Crown Center and have dinner on our own. Besides many shops & restaurants, Crown Center also include two live Theatres, an Ice Rink, the Hallmark Visitors Center, Kaleidoscope, Legoland Discovery Center, and Sea Life Aquarium.  After dinner we will view the lights at Country Club Plaza. In its 88th year, the Country Club Plaza’s Season of Lights is a Kansas City winter trademark.  Plaza Lights is a 15-block holiday spectacle on the famed Country Club Plaza, featuring thousands of glimmering, jewel-colored lights that accentuate every dome, tower and window of the Spanish-inspired shopping district.     (B/L)
Friday, December 8
After a full hot breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for the Arabia Steamboat Museum to discover a treasure trove...step back in time to 1856 and view display rooms overflowing with store goods from an earlier generation.  The steamboat Arabia sank in the Missouri River near Kansas City in 1856 carrying over 200 tons of precious frontier supplies; while the passengers survived, the cargo was lost until 1988 when excavation uncovered this amazing buried “time capsule.”  As we bid Kansas City ‘adieu’, we travel eastward to Cracker Barrel for an included lunch.  With comfort stops enroute, arrive back home this evening.    (B/L)
